ROBIN KELLY TO LAUNCH STATE TREASURER'S CAMPAIGN MONDAY
Kelly to visit Katie's Kids in Normal

CHICAGO - Robin Kelly, current chief of staff to Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, will officially launch her campaign for Illinois State Treasurer at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at Katie's Kids in Normal, IL. Kelly will hold additional announcement events in Chicago and Peoria, IL that day.

After being re-elected to a third term in the Illinois House of Representatives, Kelly joined Treasurer Giannoulias as his chief of staff in January 2007. Leveraging her experience in the legislature and in community development, Kelly helped him turn the $17 billion agency around by improving efficiencies, making the office more accessible to people throughout Illinois, and demanding stronger ethical guidelines. A Bradley University graduate, Kelly lived in Peoria for 17 years before moving to the south suburbs of Cook County, where she lives today with her husband and children.

As a result of Robin's support, Katie's Kids Learning Center was able to open its second location after receiving a lower interest rate on its loan through the Treasurer's Employ IL Program, which deposits money at financial institutions to help Illinois business owners get better interest rates.
